To get the 2010 season off to a spicy start, we are having a Curry Night at the Raj in Rockingham Road on Wednesday 21st April. More details will follow, we are hoping to have a set price for the meal to make life easier for everyone!

Oh joy, that time of year is fast approaching when the cobwebs are blown off the mowers and the paint-rollers see the light of day again.
Saturday 27th March is CricketForce Day, this year Nathan Coombs will be marshalling the troops, we need as many volunteers as possible to get all the jobs done to enable cricket to once again be played at our 2 grounds.
Nathan will be in touch in due course.

We are pleased to announce Mark Andersson as our Overseas Player for 2010. Mark is an opening batman who also keeps wicket, he plays for Eastern Suburbs in Sydney, and follows in the footsteps of fellow clubmates Robbie Sekel, Zac Zinman and Robbie McDowell who have all swapped an Oz winter (or 2!) for a season at Loddo.
Mark is 18, is a qualified coach and will be involved in the Chance to Shine scheme as well as club coaching.
We welcome him to the club and hope he has a successful season and enjoys his experience in the UK.

The 5th Annual Loddington & Mawsley CC Golf Day will take place at Brampton Heath on Thursday 2nd September 2010.
Teams of 4 will enjoy coffee and bacon rolls on arrival, followed by a round of golf then a 2 course meal and presentations. All at the bargain price of £120 per team.

The 2nd Loddington v Mawsley Ryder Cup challenge takes place at Brampton Heath on Good Friday April 2nd. Places are limited to 12 per side, cost is £26 for the day which comprises 9 holes on the short course, followed by lunch, then 18 holes on the main course, then the presentation of the cup to the winning captain.
To book your place on a 1st come 1st served basis, you need to get your £10 deposit to Andy Stanley.

January's 100 Club draw was done at the recent committee meeting and No 15 Lorraine Johnson won £100.

No snowball jackpot.

Due to a reduction in 100club members the 2nd prize of £50 has been withdrawn. When the numbers pick up again, this will be reviewed.

Just to let you know Emily arrived safely and is busily preparing for This week.

She has called us a couple of times, initially 1.30am forgetting the time difference! She is having a great time, yesterday they went to a zoo and she held a koala and stroked a kangaroo - while giving the snakes a miss!

Ewan Cox has been awarded the NCCC Weatherbys Player of the Month for May in the U/10 to U/13 category. This award goes to the player who has excelled playing at county age group level. Ewan who plays for the U/11’s and U/13’s at Loddington and Mawsley, represents the county U/10’s and played 2 games for the county side during May. In his first innings against Northampton District U/11’s he scored 51, including a sixth wicket stand of 86. In his second game he scored 39 against Kettering and District, taking part in an opening stand of 68.

This I am sure will be one of many awards that Ewan will pick up.

The best player on the day (as judged by the cricket committee) from all of the 4 saturday teams will be rewarded with a meal for 2 at The Raj (excluding drinks).
